Practice Overview
Hisham has been a member of the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan KC since September 2011, where he has built a distinguished practice spanning both criminal and civil litigation. He regularly appears before the courts and tribunals of Mauritius in matters relating to criminal law, civil disputes, family law, and industrial dispute litigations.
He has acted for both prosecution and defence, conducting cases at District Court level and appearing as leading counsel in several high‑profile matters before the Intermediate Court (Financial Crimes Division) and the Assizes.
Industrial Disputes & Employment Law
Hisham is widely recognised for his expertise in industrial relations and employment law. His appointment as Vice‑Chairperson of the National Tripartite Council, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, reflects the trust placed in his knowledge and judgment on matters of national labour policy.
In practice, he advises and represents parties in complex industrial disputes, including collective bargaining issues, redundancy claims, workplace harassment complaints, and statutory compliance under the Workers’ Rights Act. He regularly appears before the Industrial Court, disciplinary committees, and arbitration panels, combining litigation experience with policy insight gained from his national appointments.
His expertise in this field is complemented by his role as an MQA‑approved trainer in Employment Law, equipping him with both practical and academic insight into the evolving framework of industrial relations in Mauritius.
