Lavalina joined the Chambers in January 2021.
She has appeared before various courts in Mauritius in several criminal, civil, family and employment matters. Lavalina is particularly keen in litigation (both civil and criminal including Financial Crimes). She has experience before specialised bodies such as the Medical Disciplinary Tribunal, and has chaired industrial disciplinary committees. She is also an Accredited ADR & ODR Mediator.
Lavalina has been a member of The Honourable Society of The Inner Temple since 2017 and remains an active member of The Inner Temple as a speaker, panellist and as a volunteer for events such as Discovery Day for Schools, In Focus Events (The latest being: Neurodiversity at the Bar) and different Insight Events (Latest being: Becoming a Barrister).
In December 2023, Lavalina was appointed as a Co-Opted Member of the Bar Liaison Committee of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
EDUCATION
Lavalina read law at the University of West of England in Bristol, UK where she also completed her Bar Professional Training Course in 2019. She then qualified as an ADR mediator in 2018 and as an ODR Mediator in 2020.
Lavalina was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of The Inner Temple in July 2019 before being admitted to the Bar of Mauritius in January 2021.
