Practice Overview

Zeinab joined Chambers following her call to the Mauritian Bar in January 2020.

Her practice encompasses a broad range of civil and commercial matters, with particular experience in commercial litigation, corporate and company law, employment law, insolvency and restructuring, construction disputes and arbitration. She regularly advises and represents both corporate and individual clients in contentious and non-contentious matters.

Zeinab appears before the Supreme Court of Mauritius, including its Commercial and Bankruptcy Divisions, as well as before the Judge in Chambers. She also regularly appears before the Industrial Court, the Employment Relations Tribunal, the Intermediate Court and the District Courts.

She has acted in matters involving contractual disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes, employment law matters, insolvency proceedings, commercial disputes, construction-related claims and regulatory issues. Her practice also includes advisory work, contract drafting and dispute resolution.

Alongside her practice at the Bar, Zeinab is actively involved in legal education and serves as a tutor at the Mauritius campus of Panthéon-Assas University Paris II,  where she teaches Company Law and Civil Procedure.

Education

Zeinab obtained her LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Northampton. She subsequently completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial Law at the University of the West of England, Bristol, specialising in International Contracts, Financial Crime, Banking Law, International Commercial and Investment Arbitration, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility.

She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2018 and to the Mauritian Bar in January 2020. She remains a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
