Ali joined the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan K.C. following his admission to the Mauritian Bar in September 2024.
He completed his pupillage under the guidance of Mr Anwar Moollan SC, Mr Yusuf Aboobaker SC, CSK and Mr Firoz Hajee Abdoola SA, gaining extensive exposure to a broad spectrum of legal practice.
Ali has appeared before various courts and tribunals in Mauritius, representing clients in matters relating to criminal law, civil litigation and family law. He has also advised and assisted employers and employees in relation to workplace disciplinary matters.
Education
Ali obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Middlesex University, London. He subsequently pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Banking and Finance at the University of the West of England, Bristol, graduating with Distinction.
In recognition of his academic excellence, and he was awarded the International Compliance Association Prize for International Financial Crime.
His postgraduate studies focused on a range of specialised areas, including: International Banking and Finance Law, International Financial Crime, International Commercial Disputes, International Contracts, Corporate Social Responsibility and Shipping Law
Ali completed his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at City, University of London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in March 2023. He is a member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple.
